News :: Kid Karate

Earlier this week, Kid Karate dropped a blammy bit of news when they announced their track Louder was being used as the intro track on the new Xbox One welcome screen. Because we can’t all have one, they’ve consoled us with making the track available for everyone to hear, so here it is. The noisiest start to a Friday morning you’ll find.

This has been Kid Karate’s year, with good things coming thick and fast for the Dublin duo over the past six months. They’ve achieved so much that it deserves a recap: went to the Great Escape festival in Brighton in May, hooked up with an agent, played The Camden Crawl and Body & Soul, released the Lights Out EP in July, premiered their new video for Two Times on Pigeons & Planes, toured the US all summer, went to Berlin Music Festival in September, then spent a month on the road touring the UK. Since being back on Irish soil, they’ve had their music appear on new videos for the North Face and Converse. Next week they head to Trans Musicales festival in France, and in January 2014 they’ll be heading to Eurosonic Festival, and in February, tour with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club in France. This, people, is what happens when you write brilliantly unfussy rock songs and find the right people to work with. It wouldn’t happen for just anyone, but it couldn’t have happened to nicer people.

You can buy the Kid Karate Lights Out EP on CD & Digital from Bandcamp for €4.99.
